Book Design Practice

Practicing designing entire books, inside and out.

I am practicing designing whole books now, not just the covers. For my first project, I selected a work by Archibald Grimke on William Lloyd Garrison. I'm taking the text from the Gutenberg Project and going to town on it. This particular look and feel was inspired by the absolutely stunning and thoughtful work of Convivium Press.

So far I have one chapter completed. I am checking things over, making sure I'm happy with the elements, then I'll do some more.

I created the cover with the interior design in mind. I love consistency.

If you would like to see the PDF, you can download/read it here: Chapter 1

Would love to see what you think.
